Dear Readers,
Today sees the grand opening of the 79th International Motor Show in Geneva. Watches may not be as indispensable as cars, but they were invented long before motorized vehicles and will certainly still exist when cars have long gone!
After 500 years of existence, there is no reason why the demand for timekeepers should weaken and wristwatches will most definitely become more consistent, more advanced, more reliable and more precise in the future. However, the moment has come to advance in research and development, improve quality, strengthen service and offer new solutions.
An excellent example of some of the advances that have been made in the art of high watchmaking are displayed by the company Jean Dunand and its latest creation the Tourbillon Orbital Confucius. The theme of the Confucius was not chosen simply by chance. Not only has the Orient served as one of the great inspirations of the 1920s—which provides inspiration for Jean Dunand—but Chinese philosophy also says: “impatience towards the little things introduces confusion in the main design.” This phrase itself sums up the entire philosophy of Jean Dunand.
